| CO2 Accumulation |

A range of technologies can achieve altitude simulation but the fundamental outcome remains the same, a low oxygen mixture needs to be accurately maintained while at the same time CO2 produced by the occupants needs to be removed. An additional concern for the comfort and health of the occupants is the control of temperature and humidity and the removal of "stale" air and airborne bacteria and viruses. The Kinetic Altitude's solution addresses these issues by constantly refreshing the entire atmosphere in the room at a rate sufficient to remove all the CO2 and humidity as it is produced. To do this successfully relatively large amounts of nitrogen are required to keep generating a constant flow of altitude air to flow through the training rooms. Note: Some other altitude system providers use a combination of atmosphere replacement and chemical CO2 scrubbing and even fans to bring in fresh air (sacrificing altitude) in an attempt to cope with excessive CO2 build up. This is because they have insufficient nitrogen generation capacity to cope with the demands of a training facility as opposed to a sleeping facility. Kinetic Altitude have the best air quality of any altitude system available, because the nitrogen generation capacity is matched to ensure that CO2 never exceeds 0.5% or lower if required. The above graph shows the CO2 accumulation response under the same flow conditions and assuming each occupant is producing a constant amount of CO2. For comparison we have estimated the competitor's system which under the same conditions would allow CO2 to rise to over 0.75% Also note that the lower altitude settings provide more CO2 flushing, as more air is mixed with the constant flow of nitrogen. Conversely if higher altitude than 3200m is desired, then CO2 flushing will be slightly diminished.
